Home Depot hosts a free kids workshop on the first Saturday of every month from 9 to noon. Each child can bring home a newly constructed project, a kid’s apron, achievement pin, and a certificate while supplies last. Register your child at www.homedepot.com/workshops. Get there early to make sure your child receives a kit.

DAV transportation is now available to the VA Hospital at 6900 Pecos in North Las Vegas. Rides available Monday through Friday for appointments 8 AM to 4 PM. Call 702-423-4885 to schedule your ride.

Pahrump Gunfighters are looking for new members they meet the first Saturday of the month at the Library at 10 AM. For more information call 775-751-3458.

The private well owners association hosts free classes the first Wednesday of every month at 10 AM at the Pahrump Museum on Basin Avenue.

Nye County is now recruiting Emergency Medical Techs and other volunteers opportunities. No previous experience is necessary and training is provided. For more information call 775-764-1626.

BLM has ordered a fire prevention order that started May 1 through October 31, 2024. The order prohibits specific fire-related activities on all BLM managed land in Nevada. 

Pahrump Valley Fire & Rescue is placing a burn moratorium starting May 15 until November 1, 2024.

Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church is now open on Mondays from 9 to 11 and Tuesdays from 4 to 6 PM. You may attend either day one time per week.

Knit Wits meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 1 to 3 at Faith Fellowship Church at 2190 N Blagg Rd. Free lessons in knitting, crocheting and looming led by Laura Leiker.

      The Moose Lodge at 1100 Second Street is hosting their semi-annual yard sale Friday from 8 to 4 and Saturday 8 to 2. Lots of treasures to be had.
    • October 5th & 6th
      Remote Area Medical (RAM) will be at Pahrump Valley High School providing Free Dental: cleanings, fillings and extractions, Vision: complete eye exams, eye health evaluations, glasses made on site, Medical: physical exams, RX consultations, women’s health, general exams and more. All FREE 

    • October 19th
      Pahrump Valley Rotary’s $10,000 Cash Extravaganza starting at 4 PM at Nevada Treasures Resort with door prizes, silent auction and entertainment. Costumes are encouraged. Raffle tickets are $100 dinner tickets are $35 per person. For tickets contact Barbara Thompson at 775764-0681 or any Rotarian. 

    • October is breast cancer awareness month and Desert View Hospital is excited to announce they are offering FREE MAMOGRAMS to uninsured patients thanks to a generous donation from The American Breast Cancer Foundation. If you or someone you know can benefit from this service, please contact DV Hospital. Early detection saves lives.

    • Tales of Nye County is in desperate need of Fancy Feast wet kitten food and clay litter. Located at 520 East St the red door.
    • Never Forgotten Animal Society needs volunteers to help clean kennels Monday thru Sunday from 7:30 to 11:00. For more information call Pat at 775-764-9070.
    •  Pahrump Community Church at 1601 E Wilson now has a food pantry for the less fortunate open Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30.
