Community Events
Meetings for the visually impaired meet at the Pahrump Senior Center at 1370 W Basin every Monday from noon to 1:30. Information is shared and activities are planned to develop skills and enhance productivity. For more information call Delores at 775-727-0473
Pahrump Community Church has a food pantry for the less fortunate that is open Mondays,Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 . The church is located at 1061 E Wilson (at West St).
Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church is now open on Mondays from 9 to 11 and Tuesdays from 4 to 6 PM. You may attend either day one time per week.
DAV transportation is now available to the VA Hospital at 6900 Pecos in North Las Vegas. Rides available Monday through Friday for appointments 8 AM to 4 PM. Call 702-423-4885 to schedule your ride.
Pahrump Gunfighters are looking for new members they meet the first Saturday of the month at the Library at 10 AM. For more information call 775-751-3458.
The private well owners association hosts free classes the first Wednesday of every month at 10 AM at the Pahrump Museum on Basin Avenue.
RSVP hosts “Friends Day Out/Java Music Club” at the Nye Community Coalition at 1020 East Wilson Ave on Thursdays from 11:30 to 1:30. This event provides music, conversation and fun for both those suffering with dementia and their caregivers. The events are free but do bring a sack lunch or snack. Tracey at Hope Cancer Care in Pahrump at 2340 E Calvada #8 is actively looking for items to be donated that their patients need or could use like Chapstick,sunscreen, face moisturizer, light (thin) headscarfs, unscented laundry soap, shampoo and Conditioner, unscented body wash, bookd snd crossword books. If would like to donate you can drop off at the office or if you need pick up call 702-508-9128.
Pahrump Valley Fire-Rescue has announced a burn moratorium began on May 15th and remains in effect until late Fall.

PET CORNER
The Nye County Animal Shelter is open Monday thru Saturday 10 to 5 and closed on Sundays. Reclaiming of owned animals will be available on Sundays by appointment. For a Sunday appointment call 775-751-7020. Animal Control services will remain available 7 days a week from 7 to 5.
Tractor Supply and Never Forgotten Animal Society invite you to fall in love with a new furry friend. Every third Saturday of the month from 8 to 2.
The Dawg House Rescuers holds a micro-chip clinic every second Saturday of the month at Tractor Supply from 9 to 1.
West Star Ranch Animal Rescue located at 780 Manse needs volunteers to help with the animals or in the thrift store. For more information call 775-287-1436.
Pets Are Worth Saving needs volunteers or they will have to close their doors. One day a week is great help. With the help of volunteers like you over 4,000 animals have gotten second chances. For more information stop by their thrift store at 520 East St, #C or call 775-253-5051.

- October 30th: Celebrate Wic or Treat with the HHS team at The Marilyn Gallivan Complex at 250 N Hwy 160 from 3 to 5 PM. Bring your buckets or bags to trick or treat their hallways. There will be candy, trinkets and fun. Costumes are encouraged.
- October 30th: Join Spring Mountain Medical and other businesses for their first annual Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7. Located at 1151 South Hwy 160 (up on Postal Road).
- October 31st: Is a Trunk or Treat at Wheeler Springs Plaza from 6 to 8 PM.
- October 31st: Is a Spooky Eye Halloween Event from 5 to 8PM at the CalVada Eye. Calling all businesses, organizations, candidates, church groups, neighbors and friends join in today by calling 775-299-9992 to reserve your spot.
- October 31st: Is the deadline for no fee adoptions at the Nye County Animal Shelter. Commissioner District 2 John Koenig is sponsoring all the adoption fees till the 31st. All available shelter pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
- November 1st: Pahrump Town Board Committee invites you to a FREE FOOD GIVE-AWAY at 1210 E Basin Road, in the Top Dog Real Estate parking lot from noon to 3 PM.
- November 8th: Is the 18th annual Southern Inyo Fire Protection Fundraiser at the Tecopa Community Center from 8 to 3. With indoor entertainment and outdoor marketplace. Located at 405 Tecopa Hot Springs.
- November 10th: JG Johnson invites all Veterans Appreciation Day from 1:30 to 3. There will be entertainment providing entertainment. Coffee and cake will be served to the Veterans.
- November 19th: There will be a presentation of Danger, Warning, and Scam Alert for the entire community on computer on-line safety at the Pahrump Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 477 N Blagg Rd (2 blocks north of Basin at the corner of Gemini and Blagg.
